Thanks to the recommendations of local Chicago Opponauts, my wife and I took a slight detour from our Michigan Ave. excursion to wander to Bentley Gold Coast. It was very much as described, with doors open, folks wandering in and out, taking photos (though the cars were fairly well packed in there, so hard to get any good angles), customers on test drives making noise (and one who seemed to not know how the Lamborghini transmission worked, I’m wondering if it was an infamous e-gear-equipped car? I’m not up on Lambos much anymore), and millions of dollars worth of exotic metal.
I’m hoping Kinja/Nibbles lets me post photos from my Lumia 1020, if not it will wait until I get home. [EDIT: Nope. GFY Nibbles! Here’s the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! )
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
In no particular order, and without verifying their identity via the website or Bing image searches, these cars were on the ground floor (top floor was restricted to customers with an appointment) and parked on the curb outside:
Saleen S7 (woo!!! ‘Murica!)
Dodge/SRT Viper (more ‘Murica!).
Spyker C8 Spyder.
2 Bugatti Veyrons, one of which was a Vittesse.
Bentley Mulsanne.
Bentley Continental GT3R (with BRG striping).
Various Bentley Continental coupes.
Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead coupe.
Rolls-Royce Ghosts, 3 I believe.
3 Lamborghini Huracan LP510s.
A few Aventadors.
Maserati convertible.
A few more I probably didn’t notice as much on the street. Sadly there were no McLarens. There was also a Tesla Model S and a Porsche 911 Turbo S parked nearby, though I see plenty of Model S sedans around town at home.
Speaking of McLaren, I stopped by the downtown showroom of McLaren’s, which is operated by Mancuso Motorsports, and again no McLarens. A classic Corvette, a Lotus, a few Porsches, and that’s it. The only McLaren things for sale in the showroom were some McLaren-Honda branded jackets and a polo shirt. Highly disappointing, as they’re my favorite exotic brand (if my avatar isn’t a clue).

Are you able to make it out to the Lombard cruise night tonight? Bit of a hike from the city to the burbs but worth it if you have the means.

Highly unlikely. We took the Amtrak to get here, and walk everywhere when here, which quickly wears out my wife. We’re back at the hotel getting ready to go to Smith & Wollensky, per Birddog’s recommendation.
